London Day 11 and 12

So…Friday, right? We went to St. Paul’s Cathedral. It sure has changed since I was a kid. Newfangled equipment and whatnot down in the Crypts, thought it was nice that I remembered the Crypts as well as I did on the one side that has been barely touched. Something about the first time you learn you are walking on dead people…you remember things like that. I was exceptionally intrigued by a small building model that looked a lot like Hogwarts and then as someone who wants to be a film director, I thought to myself…”What if this was used as a model for the design?!?” Well, I had to move on quickly so I didn’t have much time to ponder on that. Anyway, St. Paul’s is beautiful and one of my favorite places we’ve been to. Other places were…impressive…but this was just pure beauty. Pure beauty that has a dome that takes FOREVER to get to the top. What with narrow stairs and the potential of falling, it’s quite exciting! It was actually quite frightening, but we all made it. I took no pictures of the Cathedral itself, but I did take pictures from the top of it. Now, you all may think that is just pure laziness, but, nono! That makes it so you all have to go there yourself to see it, which I recommend you do. I do NOT recommend going all the way to the top of the dome if you get tired easy, have bad knees, have terrible balance, have a foot injury (Shhh!), or hate heights. Mostly if you hate heights. You can go up to a first section which is basically just the first level above the ground which is easy enough. The problem with going down is that it gets repetitive (the scenery I mean) so you get a bit of tunnel vision and then risk falling, but if you feel like doing it do it, right? Also, the guy at the top was crazy hyper. I suppose he worked there to keep people moving and to keep people from panicking.

So for the night, I stayed in and had the wonderful company of Kaitlyn, Andrew, and Lorin. Wonderful ideas were thought up that night as some pictures will show, but for the most part since I started feeling terrible it was time for bed, in my own room.

Anyway, Saturday I woke up around noon and not soon after, Kaitlyn suggested we go to the Beatles Store and the Rock n’ Roll store. I got fun things for people. And though some people, *cough* mother *cough* (thankfully not coughing literally right now), might complain that I shouldn’t be getting gifts and get myself things instead, we all know most people would do the same. You take care of others before yourself. Besides, I own enough clothes as it is and that’s what I’d buy. If I desperately want it, I’ll get it. I haven’t hit that point yet. So look forward to it people!

After that a small group of us went to see Joss Whedon’s “Much Ado About Nothing” film adaptation. While making a pit stop we actually saw an actor from Gossip Girl. Some guy named Ed…Westwick. Yeah. That was pretty cool. Katie and Kaitlyn were the ones who noticed since they watch that. He totally knew that they knew it too before quickly scrambling inside. And no, no one took creepy stalker photos lol.
Anyway, the movie was decent. Made me giggle every now and then. I loved the actors though. Seeing Whedon pull in people from his other stuff was fabulous. We had Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, and Clark Gregg in it that I recognized.

Now we’re to last night. Err…well, four of us girls went shopping at Topshop where 2 of us came back empty handed. We were there till closing, but we just weren’t into anything there, you know? Like…not my style, I guess. Ya’ll know me. I love dark colors. There was like…2 red shirts in the entire place and all of the stuff I liked was forever expensive. Anyway, late that night we tried Fabric, which is a club. It was okay to me. Too many people for me and I am just not a techno person I guess. Leaving early was perfectly fine by me. For one, I couldn’t drink much because of the cough I have worsening to TERRIBLE degrees if I drank so that was against me. I was also pretty tired from the week since it was a busy one.

Today has basically been a do nothing kind of day. I watched some shows, did my reading, and tonight some of us are going out to dinner in a group. Pretty relaxing day (minus the school work, but whatever). I am just slowly waiting for the cold/allergy thing to go away. I think it is so awesome!
